Denny's with Friends

This event took place the night before the accident, so you can see why it's been so long since I posted this. ^^;
The night begins with copious amounts of sugar and caffeine! My friend Robert actually upping his caffeine intake with BLACK coffee, you can see why I love him.
He's such a pretty boy, so I decided to do his hair for him! Doesn't he look pretty?!?!?!
... Yeah, this is why I'm not a hair stylist.
Vladimir decided to say no to the Monster caffeine drinks and stuck to his old alibi, TEA! He already has insomnia and usually takes to flying about my head while I sleep, trying to eat my dreams before they are had. You can see his lipstick ring on the lip of the tea cup.
I've been watching a lot of Tim Burton movies lately, so this was the strange assemblage of the night. Up until now, I completely forgot that I owned those witchy boots. I must use them more often.
I realized that I need more poufy skirts like this. I have a lot of mini skirts, but only a few flouncy ones. I must find more!
Yes, I occasionally smile. I know, it's bad for the skin, but what can I say- it was the caffeine rush. <3!

Mail Call

I hate shopping with the hatred of a thousand suns, so I usually do most of my shopping online. I forgot to post these a while back, so I'm going to do a combined clothing item blog post today.
Neatly folded inside of this little package was this pink treat.
I LOVE the ghost, black on black fleur-de-lis filigree. It is my most absolute favorite thing in the world and would wear more items with this feature if I could.
Fits like a glove. Not too bad for $5.99.
Then was this bundle in another package.
Inside was this awesome band t-shirt.
Cliche, I know, but I am not a Goth snob- I do like Evanescence, you occasionally will see me shopping at Hot Topic, and all those other horrible Goth cliches. I haven't decided how I want to cut this shirt, but it will be beautiful.
Another package held this spooky little treat.
I've never seen a bat shaped hole punch before, but now that my eyes have been opened, I will certainly be on the look out. Halloween is nigh!
And inside of that bag was this beauty! ^o^
Black crinkle sheer fabric overlayed on a blood red fabric? Yes please!
There is a black ribbon trim and a little frill on the bottom too.
My dog wanted to help me model it. Now I have to brush dog hair off my new skirt...
I got some pretty neat stuff. All of these items were $10 or less, and I get to personalize them (the shirts anyway) as I want to. I love buying used stuff and thrifting, it's so much fun. And with a strange taste in clothes, personalizing my clothes is much easier. I hope you enjoyed! <3!

Car Accident

This is what it looks like when your truck breaks down on the 210 freeway.
Let me explain. My mom was driving me to my voice lesson in Altadena when there was a VERY loud sound- our front left tire had exploded. All at once, the truck veered to the left toward the center divider. My mom turned the wheel to the right where we cut through 3 lanes of traffic and came to rest in the fire lane. We somehow missed the center divider, traffic, AND the fire wall on the side of the freeway, and our truck (and ourselves) remained unscathed.
My mom and I were HORRIBLY shaken, but this Metro service truck was there in less than 3 minutes. He just happened to be passing by and saw our truck in the fire lane. My mom and I were a mess, we were just holding each other and saying "We're okay, we're okay." And we were.
The man was very nice, probably about 30. He was wearing long sleeves that didn't quite cover the tattoos extending to his hands, and had stretched lobes without plugs (probably not allowed due to his job). But he wore black framed glasses and had lot of smile lines, so he did his best to make my mom and I settle down and feel safe. As you can see by his radio, this all happened before 11am. Talk about a long day.
He loaded up our truck to his truck and pulled us off of the freeway to the first main street exit that he could. He parked our truck in the shade so we wouldn't have to wait in the sun for a tow truck to tow us home.
A tow truck came and took us home at 3PM!!! Yeah, fighting with those Triple A insurance people on the phone, finally getting a reasonable representative, and having them send a tow truck when you're stuck someplace you don't know is NOT my cup of tea.
Aside from the obvious bad events that day, everything seemed alright. We were okay, the truck was alright, and my brother and mom went out and bought a new spare tire for the truck, because...
this was the tire that exploded. Good luck finding a patch to fix that! Mind you, we were on the freeway, it was 10-something in the morning, minimal traffic, driving about 45 or so. When your tire decides to do this, it's SCAAAARY.
This happened this past Saturday though. I finally feel okay enough to upload these photos without that sick feeling in my stomach and write it out without freaking out. Everything turned out okay though, and I lived to tell the tale! <3!

Hawaiian Festival

Today, I went to a Hawaiian Festival!
So as you can see, I'm wearing my tropical best. ^^;
And yes, the big boots were donned!
Okay, so it was freakin' hot. You can see from the picture below that my face has a far-away, sweltering look to it. And this was BEFORE I got there. ><!
When I got there, there was everything- food, games, snow cones, and even a little band with like 3 ukeleles in it too.
I don't know how these performers aren't burnt to a crisp, I was in the shade with a lime cherry snow cone.
The food was GOOD. I got some sushi. It was getting hot, so we headed inside. Inside of a huge auditorium, there were Hawaiian dancers performing different island dances.
Unfortunately, there weren't the quintessential hula dancers swallowing fire, but it was really nice and relaxed.
 The band.
What happened next was awesome. Inside the auditorium, there were tables with people selling stuff to raise money for their church. I went to the tables and said hi to the ladies working. There, I see this little gem.
A headstone! It's big, about from my wrist to my shoulder. I looked at it and the lady said "Oh yes, that's a decoration for Halloween." I said "For me, it's always Halloween! See!" And I showed her my coffin backpack. She laughed and said something to the effect of "How wonderful!" She liked my backpack and my outfit so much, she gave me the headstone for 50 cents. When I was walking away, she handed me this little guy for free!
See! Talking to people can result in some cool stuff sometimes! XD

Like A (Goth) Walk In The Park

Why do most of my outings begin with some amount of sugar? ><!
Just a random walk in the park, enjoying nature and soaking up some sun(set) with SPF 70. Enjoy the photos! <3!
