What a better way to ring in the New Year other than a trip to Disneyland! I scrimped and saved and finally managed enough funds to go with some loved ones. There were a lot of photos taken (I omited the ones with them because I don't know how they'd feel with their faces on the interwebz), so I'll try to keep the intro short.
The huuuge Christmas tree that greeted us into the park. Sleeping Beauty's castle. EVERYTHING was decked out in Christmas lights and reefs and what-not, it was very lovely.
First ride of the day, Pirates of the Carribbean (you can kind of see the plaque). I love this area of Disneyland, it's decorated in a Louisiana, French Quarter way. You can see a bit of that in the filigree'd iron work here.
On the Pirates of the Carribbean ride. It was VERY hard to take photos because the ride is moving, this was one of the non-blurry photos taken. I love that Victorian lady. :D
And of course, every Goths dream...
I LOVED how they decked out the Haunted Mansion. They put pumpkins and black-and-white pinstripe bows with purple everywhere.
The front entrance, those columns... *swoon*
The decorated cemetary.
I love those candle holders! And that iron work too. And the skulls. And the ribbons... GAH! >,<
This lovely funeral coach was also decorated in a Halloween/Christmas theme. It's soo beautiful! I want one of these for my funeral.
On the ride. Again, movement= blurry photos. You can see the nightmare in the gingerbread house.
And this lovely creature greeted us. :D
In this photo, you can see a little creature holding a hammer with nails in his mouth, nailing a man shut in his coffin. I was rather fond of him, and he was rather fond of my coffin purse (he said it looked cozy), so he decided to join me.
I named him Vladimir Voltaire. He's so cute! :D
He decided to hide among different places of the park and scare little children, I was rather fond of his little game. He also loves apples, particularly red ones.
For the afternoon, we joined Alice and had a wonderful little tea party. I had a small cuppa for myself.
Okay, a HUGE cuppa to myself.
Mad hatter lent me his hat, I'd make a rather... interesting red head.
The princesses had a parade during the end of our tea time to entertain us with a
And Snow White...
And Sleeping Beauty, Aurora.
Vladimir got bored, so we journeyed to Nemo's submarine ride. He likes the waterfall in the background.
Being fond of flying, he chose to go to Star Tours afterwards. The darkness of outerspace is quite like a warm bath of darkness, he says.
We then journeyed to Indiana Jones where he found all sorts of interesting skulls and bones. He even let me drive.
Those damn tourists kept getting in the damn way, so I hurled insults at them and ran them over while Vlad feasted upon their flesh. :]
We got some popcorn (he ate it ALL) and got on Dumbo's ride. He got a little motion sick, but I still managed to conquer that elephant.
There were several claps of thunder that pointed us to Snow White's castle. Her evil stepmother would peek out through the blinds to claim her victims every now and then.
This is Vlad's favorite ride. He loves apples (particularly the poisonous sort) and after consuming a basket or two, he fell into a deep sleep. Good thing my coffin purse, Spooky, was handy.
I enjoyed the castle while he slumbered. They had lit it up with thousands of Christmas lights and garlands as well. It was quite lovely indeed.
Seeing as Vlad had eaten everything in sight, I visited the ice cream parlor in his absense. I loved the artwork. There were more frames of Gibson Girls all around, but there were a LOT of people too.
After a few scoops of ice cream, I bought myself some cow
I noticed in the stores a few good Goth friends. I think Eeyore is a closet goth.
I really liked these Christmas balls. And if you think of it, you can make these! All you need is white ornaments, black paint (possible glitter to sprinkle on while the paint dries), and a ribbon. Voila!
And another goth friend, Beast. I have a fondness for horned Beasts. I think Belle was my favorite princess. She was smart, read a lot, didn't buy into the traditional "woman" roles and dreamed of travelling, AND saw behind a demon to the dark prince inside. Love!
Vlad must've smelled the cow
Naturally, I snapped one of him too.
They snapped a photo of us on the ride, they caught me mid pearl-clutch.
Vlad insisted upon seeinf Michael Jackson in Captain E.O., a 3D music video short film. Unused to third dimensions, I had to help him with his glasses.
It sucks not having ears.
We got tired after all the excitement and began to leave. I loved this book, so he snapped this photo of myself posing with it.
We went home where he met with my head bear, Lady Fairington. They discussed all sorts of wonderful things and enjoyed some midnight tea together, I'm glad he decided to come home with me.
I think this will be the start of a beautiful new year. I hope you all have a great new year too! <3!
