My Book Christmas Tree!

I did a thing today!

Yesterday, I was trying to rearrange my books on my bookshelf when I saw a post about "book trees". I loved the idea, so I decided to try it out for myself.

This is how I did it. In the middle, there is a big box to just anchor everything down and take up space. I used my bigger, heavier books on the bottom (my used textbooks that I had lying around) to make a hefty base.

Next, I kept building up. I put a boxed set of books in the middle on top of the box to take up more room. As you can see, I have a few thin scripts/magazines tucked into the small corners to fill up some room.

Then for the top, I just layered a bunch of my paperbacks on top of one another. As you can see, I love the occult, Bizenghast, and Vampires. ^^;

For the top of my tree, I needed something special. Something to tie in the whole book tree and speak about who I am as a person...

So I chose a small tea cup and saucer to be my star! Isn't it beautiful! It's yellow too!

Hahaha! I'm sooo proud of this thing! I wrapped some lights around it and a small bit of tinsel and voila! Done!

Now I don't have to worry about vacuuming pine needles after Christmas, AND I saved like $40 for a tree that I'm going to throw away in about two weeks.

So yes, I am an advocate for the book tree. Happy decorating! <3!
